River Description:
Hmmmm how to do describe one of the best runs Walden's Ridge has to offer, and this is thru the eyes of a jaded creeker who doesn't playboat or run much much II-III whitewater.
Well imagine the Nantahala on steroids, imagine everywhere you look, there is a feature to play, or surf. If you aren't tired by the time you hit the take-out, well it's time to take up a new sport for I don't what to tell you.
There are same of your typical features that can get you into trouble, undercuts (some), trees (some), but for the most part this run is the cleanest of the them on the ridge. This is a run to take a person, who has rescue skills, but it is still working on their roll.
One to look for when you see the "other" Piney coming in on the left look for one of the best waves of the whole run...it's a blast. Also in this section start looking up for the nesting Bald Eagles the watershed is clean and great habitat for them and you.

Whitewater
paddling is VERY Dangerous, and you should get
instruction before ever attempting even to paddle
flatwater. One of contributors to this web site
has personally helped bury 3 kayaking friends, this
isn't a joke. Whitewater paddling can ruin your
life through accidents and can effect your family
and friends throughout a lifetime.
The
information on this page is incomplete,
inaccurate, and very unreliable. Use
with caution. Whitewater paddling is a
dangerous sport and the information here is not a
substitute for actual knowledge and skill.
The authors are not liable for your actions. Go
ahead and kill yourself if you want to, but don't
blame others for you actions and decisions that you
will make on and off the river.
