First Drop of the run...........................................

History :

It was first attempted by Matt "Badfish" who shook his head and hiked out

Later it was cleaned up Mike" Louie" Lewis (OC-1) and Keith Clark (OC-1)

Overall:

Yellow falls straight off Starr Mountain and is manky with tight congested moves.
Its on the edge of what is considered runnable by most. This run is a hike and huck.
but the rhododendron will leave you worn out from portaging through the thick
undergrowth BUT now that you have been warned its has some memorable drops and is
more fun than its neighbor over at Bullet Creek on the same mountain and they come
to the same confluence. And contrary to another website this creek is very doable.
75% of all the rapids are runnable. The next nice thing is that 300 yards straight
up is the road in case you need to pull the pin and call it a day.

Put-in..................................................................................................

The beginning section............

"The picture with the big tree is one of the longest on the river and would be great if it wasn't for that big dam* tree".

One of the slot moves....................

Keith Clark running the drop...............................

This is an intense run due to being 700 fpm, there are still some rapids to run if
the wood is removed and with portages getting wired this run could have laps due to
its short shuttle.

The first drop is a 10 ft spout that is clean with a manky approach. There is also
a slide drop that is fun. Most of the others are manky approaches to the next eddy
or portage. The one to come and paddle is Yellow Creek Falls. It's a 20 ft cascade
and not a true waterfall. Its a move that is like no other, hit it with a 9 o'clock
angle of attack, this sets you up for the little pool above the undercut. Float and
go for this drop.

Keith Clark running another drop.................

20 ft cascade into the undercut.................

From here there is more mank until you come to a 14 footer. Its fluffy and a easy
landing. The locals call it the bluehole...so you get the idea.

From here you hit Bullet Creek ,and it turns into hard Class III due to the trees
that could come into play.
