What you will need: Aquaseal, Wax Paper, Pen, Clothes Pins, Cardboard Scissors Bowls, Iron
Optional: Rubber Gloves Antiseptic wipes Instructions:
Measure the distance between the edge of the bowl to the edge of the outer gasket cover
Trace the circle on the cardboard and cut the circle out
Flip outer neoprene neck inside out
Insert cardboard through neck hole
Iron off seam tape along the edge of the gasket (use wax paper)
Take out cardboard and turn the jacket completely inside out
Insert cardboard back through the neck hole
Iron off existing gasket picking at the edges
Cut 2 wax paper circles same size as the cardboard circle
When all pieces of the gasket are off, inset the 2 pieces of wax paper through the
neck hole over the cardboard that is already there
Apply Aquaseal along the glue edge be sure to push the glue all the way to the
edge (it is OK to get it all over the wax paper)
Clean the gluing edge of the gasket with antiseptic wipe (glossy side)
Close pin the top of the inside gasket (non glossy side)
Put on Latex gloves
Apply glue to the outside (glossy side) of the gasket 1 1⁄2 inch around the
circumference. Be sure to get the glue all the way to the edge of the gasket
Let both sides dry for 10 to 15 minutes or until tacky
Pull one layer of the wax paper out of the neck hole
Apply both glue edges together pressing along the glue area, massaging the air
bubbles out
Cut strips of wax paper and cardboard to cover the glue area
Place an array of bowls to press the cardboard down compressing the glue job
Let dry for 8 hours
Remove the bowls and slowly remove the glue job off the wax paper. Mash and
press along all edges
Let dry for another 8 hours
Slowly and carefully peel off all the wax paper from the inside of the project and
remove the cardboard
Let it cure for 4 more hours and you are ready to paddle
Go "borrow" a orange traffic cone, instead of a bowl...the traffic cone makes the perfect jig....just turn the top inside out and place the top on the cone.
Trust me...you can do this and save a TON of money and you can do it better than a pro!
These are sold as each and not by the pair. Aquaseal is sold separately.
